Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Security Shift Supervisor for a residential re-entry center in Alabama. You will coordinate administrative and operational security on a shift, and lead staff to ensure adequate security coverage end-to-end.

Responsibilities include conducting post counts, staff training, incident reporting, and maintaining daily logs, with emphasis on safety and compliance with policies and procedures. The role requires strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year as a Monitor I or two years related experience.
• Ability to plan, motivate, manage schedules, train staff, and respond to emergencies.
• Ability to write legible reports in English with correct grammar.
• Ability to work any assigned shift and use facility software.

Responsibilities

• Reads, understands and complies with post orders for the assigned post.
• Ensure resident formal counts are conducted.
• Directs Monitor staff and residents, trains new employees, schedules, and handles disciplinary actions.
• Report suspected unauthorized activity to Security Manager or Facility Director.
• Maintain daily logs, resident in/out, visitors, and facility checks.
• Provide adequate staffing and fill in as needed.
• Participate in evaluating security staff and training requirements.
• Monitor safety practices and prepare incident reports.
• Lead shift meetings and maintain effective communications.
