Job summary

GEO Reentry Services LLC is seeking a Security Monitor to coordinate administrative and operational security on a residential re-entry center shift. The role leads staff, ensures counts, trains new employees, and maintains daily logs and reports in line with policy.

You will engage in safety and incident reporting, staff scheduling, and continuous improvement of security operations while collaborating with management and residents to maintain a secure, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year as Monitor I or 2 years related experience.
• Active driver’s license.
• Familiar with community correctional operations.
• Ability to write legible reports in English.
• Ability to plan, motivate, train and react quickly to emergencies.
• Ability to work any assigned shift.
• Ability to work with computers and applicable software.

Responsibilities

• Reads, understands and follows post orders for the assigned post.
• Ensures resident counts are conducted.
• Directs Monitor staff and residents during shift and manages schedules and discipline as needed.
• Reports suspected unauthorized activity to Security Manager or Facility Director.
• Maintains daily logs, resident in/out, visitors in/out, and facility checks.
• Provides adequate staffing and covers short-staffing periods.
• Cooperates with staff training requirements and ensures training is completed.
• Monitors safety practices and prepares incident reports according to policy.
• Conducts shift office meetings and improves communication across staff and residents.
