Job summary

GEO Reentry Services LLC. seeks a security-focused professional to coordinate administrative and operational security on a shift in a residential re-entry center. The role involves leading staff, ensuring counts, and maintaining safety and orderly operations.

You will train new employees, resolve issues, manage logs and reports, and coordinate with the Security Manager and Facility Director. The position requires adaptability to rotate shifts and respond calmly to emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year as Monitor I or two years related experience; leadership experience preferred.
• Familiar with community correctional operations, rules and regulations; supervision training principles.
• Ability to write legible reports in English with proper grammar.
• Ability to motivate, control, schedule, train and react quickly to emergencies.
• Ability to work any assigned shift.
• Ability to work with computers and software typically used by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Reads, understands and complies with post orders for the assigned post.
• Ensure resident formal counts are conducted.
• Directs Monitor staff and residents on shift; train new employees; resolve complaints; manage schedules and leave requests.
• Report any suspected unauthorized activity or absence to Security Manager or Facility Director.
• Maintain daily logs, resident in/out, visitors in/out, and facility checks.
• Provide adequate staffing and fill in during short staffing periods.
• Participate in evaluation of security staff.
• Coordinate staff training requirements and ensure training is completed.
• Monitor safety practices and prepare safety/accident reports as required by policy.
• Conduct shift office meetings and participate in staff meetings to improve communication.
• Communicate effectively with staff, residents, visitors and the public; give information and directions.
• Prepare staff logs and disciplinary reports; process reports promptly.
• Review and file shift reports and records.
• Inspect housing and general use areas to ensure standards and guidelines are followed; direct corrective actions.
• Conduct visual and audio surveillance for extended periods; identify residents visually.
• Work rotating shifts and perform security checks of doors and windows.
• Take action to prevent or diffuse disruptive situations; remain calm in emergencies.
• Complete in-service training and comply with company policies; perform other duties as assigned.
