Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging is seeking a Plant Supervisor in Wytheville to oversee all plant production activities on a specific shift, ensuring schedules are met and product quality standards are achieved while maintaining safety and cost efficiency.

The role involves supervising maintenance staff in the absence of the Plant Maintenance Manager, training hourly employees, and enforcing plant rules. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of college, prefer Bachelor's Degree in Business Management.

Responsibilities

• Directs the manufacturing and material handling activities on a given shift.
• Ensures employees are performing tasks in accordance with safety policies.
• Trains and supervises hourly employees in these activities; administers plant rules and procedures; recommends employees and candidates for hire, promotion, demotion, transfer, disciplinary action and/or termination.
• Effectively manages the work schedule within the department to prevent idle time and provide for optimal use of personnel, machinery, and material.
• Maintains standards of quality to meet customer and internal specifications.
• Maintains safe working conditions and may serve on the Plant Safety Committee.
• Communicates changes to production personnel and ensures understanding and proper implementation.
