Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift in Blythewood, SC. You will oversee all plant production activities, ensure safety and quality, and drive continuous improvement while meeting schedules and controlling costs.

The role requires 3+ years in supervision, preferably in plastics, with strong communication and training skills. A Green Belt and a two-year college degree are preferred. Amcor offers a comprehensive benefits package and a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of college; bachelor’s in business management preferred or equivalent experience.
• Green Belt certification preferred.
• Minimum of three years in a supervisory role, preferably plastic manufacturing.
• Must communicate quickly and effectively with shift, management, customers and vendors.
• Must be able to train and manage all shift members ongoing.
• Change agent mindset; drive continuous improvement and team engagement.

Responsibilities

• Directs manufacturing and material handling on the shift.
• Ensures safety policy compliance by all employees.
• Trains and supervises hourly staff; enforces rules; oversees hiring decisions.
• Manages shift schedule to prevent idle time and optimize resources.
• Maintains quality standards to meet specs and drives continuous improvement in quality.
• Leads 5S on the production floor and ensures safe working conditions.
• Reports end-of-shift metrics: production, runtime/downtime, maintenance, quality deviations, materials, safety checks, attendance, and labor costs.
• Communicates changes to production personnel and ensures understanding and implementation.
