Job summary

G&W Electric in Bolingbrook, Illinois is seeking a Production Inspector to verify components and finished products against ISO standards and production controls. You will perform final inspections on switches and orders, and you may train others in proper inspection methods.

The role emphasizes accuracy, documentation, NCRs, and control charts, with a focus on maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient manufacturing facility and supporting continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; combination of experience welcomed.
• 1–3 years in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics and BOMs desirable.
• Basic computer skills in MS Word and Excel; ERP experience desirable.
• Ability to use calipers, micrometers and a Fluke multimeter.

Responsibilities

• Perform final inspection tasks on all switches and part orders being shipped.
• Train production personnel in effective methods to control processes.
• Prepare reports for all findings and enter NCRs.
• Shut down non-conforming processes after notifying Supervisor.
• Create/implement process control charts for critical processes.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by following procedures and rules.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
• Inspect all work prior to passing it on to the next operation.
