Job summary

G&W Electric Co in Romeoville, IL is seeking a Production Inspector for the 2:00pm–10:30pm shift to inspect switches and assemblies for conformance to production controls and ISO standards.

You will perform final inspections, train personnel, prepare reports, and help maintain a safe, efficient manufacturing environment. Prior manufacturing experience and ability to read drawings are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, BOMs, wiring/ladder diagrams desirable.
• Basic computer skills in MS Word and Excel; ERP experience desirable.
• Ability to use calipers and micrometers; use of a Fluke multimeter preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform final inspection tasks on switches and orders being shipped.
• Train production personnel in effective methods to control processes.
• Prepare reports for all findings.
• Shut down non-conforming processes after notifying Supervisor.
• Prepare and enter NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
• Write Customer Improvement Initiative (CII) for repetitive problems.
