Job summary

G&W Electric is seeking a Production Inspector to perform final inspections on switches and parts, train team members, and prepare descriptive reports. The role requires reading drawings and using measuring tools like calipers and micrometers, with ERP experience a plus.

There is an opportunity to help develop process controls with engineering, maintain a safe work environment, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. The shift runs 5:00am to 1:30pm in Bolingbrook, IL.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, bills of materials, wiring/ladder diagrams desirable.
• Basic computer skills in MS Word and Excel; ERP experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform final inspection tasks on all switches and part orders being shipped.
• Train production personnel in effective methods to control processes.
• Prepare reports for all findings and enter NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
• Shut down non-conforming processes after notifying Supervisor.
• Create/implement process control charts for critical processes with engineering teams.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
• Inspect all work prior to passing it to the next operation.
• Document actions with production and quality forms.
