Job summary

G&W Electric Co in Bolingbrook, IL is seeking a Quality Control Inspector I to inspect components and finished products for conformance using visual inspection and basic measuring tools. You will perform final inspections on switches and part orders, train production staff on effective process controls, and generate non-conformances as needed.

You will participate in internal audits, communicate drawing discrepancies to Engineering, and assist with NCRs and ISO compliance.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, BOMs, wiring and ladder diagrams.
• Basic computer skills in MS Word and Excel; ERP experience desirable.
• Ability to use calipers and micrometers and a Fluke multimeter.
• Experience with small hand and power tools.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Able to understand and follow verbal and written English instructions.
• Ideally 1–3 years of manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform final inspection on switches and part orders before shipment.
• Train production personnel in effective methods to control processes.
• Generate non-conformances (NCR) in production.
• Perform internal process audits and report findings.
• Shut down non-conforming processes after notifying Supervisor.
• Communicate drawing discrepancies to Engineering.
• Participate in customer inspections as needed.
• Assist with entering and NCRs.
• Report ISO violations to the Quality Manager.
• Participate in prototype reviews for new products as needed.
• Assist in dimensional analysis to identify quality issues.
• Create/implement control charts for critical processes.
• Maintain safe, clean working environment; conserve resources.
• Train others in inspection tasks; inspect work before next operation.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
