Job summary

Amtex Systems Inc. is seeking an experienced Production/Plant Manager to lead a multi-shift manufacturing department in Newark, NJ. The role focuses on operational excellence and delivering on production goals.

You will oversee staffing, procurement, maintenance, batchmaking, packaging, QC, and shipping, while driving safety, quality and environmental compliance. Strong leadership and matrix-project experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical field.
• 6+ years of production/plant management experience.
• Experience in matrixed organizations.
• Strong people-management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage full department operations across multiple shifts including staffing, procurement, maintenance, batchmaking, packaging, QC, and shipping.
• Drive safety, environmental, and quality compliance.
• Own staffing levels, scheduling, and overtime planning to meet production demand.
• Coach and develop team leadership; foster trust and transparency.
• Apply Lean/5S/Continuous Improvement methods to drive operational excellence.
• Manage cost tracking and hazardous/non-hazardous waste compliance.
• Serve as key decision-maker and troubleshooter for the site.
