Job summary

Subway is seeking a Shift Manager to focus on guest experience, food quality, cleanliness, inventory control, and staff supervision. You will also cascade training to Sandwich Artists and handle scheduling and paperwork as needed.

This role involves ensuring equipment is in good working order, maintaining standards, and supporting a team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Full-time/part-time shifts vary by location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.
• Ability to operate the POS system and complete paperwork as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide an excellent guest experience.
• Schedule and supervise staff.
• Keep the restaurant clean, functional and attractive.
• Control inventory and ensure equipment works during shifts.

As part of the Subway® Team, you as a Shift Manager will focus on six main things:

In addition to the role of a typical Sandwich Artist®, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Cascading training to Sandwich Artists™ on existing and new responsibilities
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Practicing inventory control standards
• Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift
• Completing paperwork as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication and organizational skills

Physical: Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
