Job summary

Subway in Chicopee, MA is seeking a Shift Manager to lead daily operations in a fast-paced restaurant. You will supervise a team, ensure great guest experiences, and maintain cleanliness and food safety standards.

You’ll train Sandwich Artists, manage scheduling, monitor inventory, handle paperwork, and ensure equipment works properly. Full-time and part-time day/evening/weekend shifts vary by location; previous restaurant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.
• Strong communication and supervision skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide an excellent guest experience.
• Ensure food is prepared and served to standard.
• Keep the restaurant clean, functional, and welcoming.
• Schedule and supervise staff and assist with inventory control.
• Train Sandwich Artists on existing and new responsibilities.
• Complete paperwork as needed; operate POS system.

• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Practicing inventory control standards
• Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift
• Completing paperwork as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication and organizational skills

Physical: Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
