Job summary

Subway is seeking a Shift Manager in Durham, NC to lead daily operations, focusing on guest experience, ensuring quality food, maintaining cleanliness, controlling inventory, and scheduling and supervising staff.

You will cascade training to Sandwich Artists, supervise the team, ensure equipment is working properly, complete required paperwork, and help create a positive, efficient dining environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year restaurant experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

In addition to the role of a typical Sandwich Artist®, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Cascading training to Sandwich Artists™ on existing and new responsibilities


• Scheduling and supervising staff


• Practicing inventory control standards


• Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift


• Completing paperwork as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication and organizational skills

Physical: Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
