Job summary

Subway is seeking a Shift Manager to lead daily operations, ensure guest satisfaction, and uphold food quality and cleanliness standards. You will supervise staff, manage inventory, and schedule shifts while cascading training to team members.

The role includes ensuring equipment functions properly and completing necessary paperwork. The position offers opportunities for hands-on career development within a fast-paced restaurant environment, with shifts including day, evening, and weekends

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of restaurant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide an excellent guest experience and ensure food is prepared and served to standard.
• Maintain restaurant cleanliness, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.
• Manage inventory and control costs where applicable.
• Schedule and supervise staff.
• Cascade training to Sandwich Artists on responsibilities and standards.
• Ensure equipment is in proper working order and complete paperwork as needed.

In addition to the role of a typical Sandwich Artist®, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Cascading training to Sandwich Artists™ on existing and new responsibilities


• Scheduling and supervising staff


• Practicing inventory control standards


• Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift


• Completing paperwork as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication and organizational skills

Physical: Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
