Job summary

Thorntons is seeking a Shift Leader to manage on-shift operations, ensure safety and food safety, coach team members, and maintain standards across cash handling and inventory. The role involves training new team members, stretching across multiple shifts, and upholding Thorntons’ Core Values within a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should be prepared to lead in the absence of store management, monitor compliance, and use strong communication to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Food safety certifications preferred.
• All experience is considered.

Responsibilities

• Act as responsible shift leader when Store Manager/General Manager is absent, assign work, manage inventory and shift reconciliation.
• Deliver guest service with a helpful attitude and look for opportunities to delight guests.
• Practice safe working habits and report maintenance or safety problems.
• Follow laws related to restricted sales (alcohol, tobacco, lottery).
• Prepare fresh food meeting food safety requirements and maintain logs and dating procedures.
