Job summary

El Pollo Loco, Inc. is seeking a Shift Leader in Los Angeles to drive exceptional guest experiences and smooth restaurant operations during your shift. You’ll lead a team, uphold quality standards, and ensure safety and cleanliness while managing opening/closing tasks and cash handling.

You’ll train team members on new products and procedures, monitor service speed, and adjust staffing to match demand. This role offers growth opportunities within a fast-paced, fire-grilled cuisine environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• Must be certified on EPL SPECS positions or have 1+ years of restaurant supervisory experience and pass the EPL Food Safety Audit (FSA) class after hire.

Responsibilities

• Manage opening and closing procedures, coordinate crew tasks for setup, food prep, and cleaning; update inventory records.
• Ensure customer service and speed of service metrics meet company goals and standards; maintain cleanliness per EPL and health code.
• Prioritize tasks, manage shifts and staffing based on sales volume; monitor and adjust food production with Area Leader guidance.
• Train and support team members on new products and procedures.
• Manage cash handling, deposits, and shift-level financial procedures; ensure compliance with operational procedures.
• Greet and assist customers to meet expectations and satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support operations.
