Job summary

Jersey Mike's Ottumwa is hiring a Shift Leader to support the management team in running the location. You will coach staff, ensure high quality food, and deliver the Jersey Mike’s experience through exceptional customer service.

You will handle cash, follow the training program, develop others, enforce policies, and help open and close the store. The role requires strong teamwork, reliability, and a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• 1 year QSR experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older to operate the slicer.
• Serve Safe Certification - Food Handler.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Coach the staff to deliver amazing customer service.
• Produce high quality food.
• Deliver the Jersey Mike’s experience.
• Cash handling.
• Follow the Learning Management System Training Program.
• Develop others for career growth.
• Enforcing policies and procedures.
• Participating in local and national marketing initiatives.
• Building sales.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and proper sanitation practices in the establishment.
• Being certified in all four positions of the restaurant.
• Effective communication.
• Having a sense of urgency.
• Move or Transport up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Lead by example in quality and service.
• Open and close the store.
• Know how to bake bread and perform prep.
• Manage and lead crew of 2 to 5 people.
• Proficient in slicing.
