Job summary

Potbelly Corporate in Mishawaka is seeking a friendly Shift Leader to guide a fast-paced team and deliver outstanding product quality and service. You’ll manage and develop associates, assign tasks, and help control costs across shifts, while upholding Potbelly values and safety standards.

We offer competitive pay between $17.25 and $17.75 per hour plus digital tips, comprehensive benefits, and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail environment preferred
• Must pass and obtain a Food Safety Certification
• Friendly, customer-first mindset in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Enjoy problem-solving
• Comfortable working in a bustling kitchen; knife skills a plus
• Able to stand/walk 8-9 hours; lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; Illinois applicants must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Lead team members on shifts, assigning tasks and providing feedback
• Ensure security procedures are followed
• Maintain back-of-house procedural standards
• Count drawers and follow cash handling procedures
• Prepare finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream) efficiently
• Comply with health and safety standards for food and cleanliness
• Restock food line, chips and cooler
• Clean workstations and dining areas; take out trash
• Operate cash register and balance cash
• Handle customer complaints/issues
• Other duties as assigned
