Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Shop in Mishawaka, IN seeks a Shift Leader to guide a fast-paced team while delivering high-quality sandwiches and customer service. You will manage shifts, uphold safety standards, and help control costs while fostering a welcoming environment for guests.

The role requires at least 1 year of supervisory experience in food-service or retail, valid food safety certification, and the ability to stand for long periods; benefits include health insurance, parental leave, and 401(k)

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• At least 1 year supervisory experience in restaurant or retail preferred.
• Must pass Food Safety Certification; after 2 failed attempts not eligible.

Responsibilities

• Lead team on shifts and assign tasks.
• Ensure security procedures are followed.
• Maintain back-of-house standards.
• Count drawers and handle cash.
• Prepare quality finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream).
• Follow health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
• Restock food line and cooler.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register and balance cash.
• Handle customer complaints/issues professionally.
• Other duties as assigned.
