Job summary

Fiesta Restaurant Group's Pollo Tropical brand is seeking a Team Leader in Training in New York to gain hands-on experience in restaurant operations and shift leadership. You will learn supervision of hourly team members, uphold food safety, and contribute to guest service excellence while collaborating with the leadership team.

You will develop coaching and communication skills, participate in daily huddles, and support scheduling, inventory checks, and basic cash handling as you progress

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of experience in the restaurant industry, preferably in a team support or leadership role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide hourly team members during shifts to ensure quality, efficiency, and guest service.
• Assist in planning and overseeing shift responsibilities while learning safety and sanitation procedures.
• Coach, communicate with, and motivate team members to support engagement.
• Attend daily pre-shift huddles to align on goals and service standards.
• Model high guest service standards and address guest concerns with urgency and care.
• Learn regulatory and company compliance and help maintain cleanliness and equipment upkeep.
• Observe and report incidents to foster a safe, inclusive work environment.
• Assist with scheduling, inventory checks, and basic cash handling procedures.
• Shadow leadership during training and onboarding activities.
• Develop decision-making and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations.
• Demonstrate adaptability and a positive mindset in a dynamic team setting.
• Follow company policies and perform other duties as assigned.
