Torchy’s Tacos in Charlottesville is seeking a Shift Leader to ensure shifts run smoothly and deliver a Damn Good experience to guests. You’ll balance hands-on involvement with guiding the team across FOH and BOH, while upholding food safety and cleanliness standards.

You’ll lead shifts, open/close the restaurant as needed, delegate tasks, train teammates, and resolve guest concerns with urgency—and you’ll have opportunities for growth within a fast-paced, values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a restaurant.
• Strong understanding of food safety, guest service, and restaurant operations.
• Required state alcohol-server and Manager ServSafe certifications.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts with focus on guest experiences and operational excellence.
• Serve as key holder for opening/closing duties.
• Identify, prioritize and delegate tasks to team members.
• Engage with guests to address needs with urgency and care.
• Assist in hiring, training, and mentoring staff.
• Maintain FOH and BOH knowledge, including food safety and cleanliness.
• Support inventory management and line checks.
• Supervise cash handling and ensure policy adherence.
• Complete safety checklists and regulatory compliance.
• Resolve guest or staff issues as needed.
• Adapt to evolving business needs.
