Job summary

Torchy’s Tacos is seeking a Shift Leader in Houston. You will lead shifts, balance FOH and BOH duties, and help deliver a Damn Good guest experience. You may open/close, delegate tasks, and mentor teammates to uphold food safety and operational standards.

As a leader, you will drive guest satisfaction, train staff, manage inventory, and ensure cash handling and health compliance. Flexible schedules and growth opportunities are highlighted in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a restaurant.
• Strong understanding of food safety, guest service, and restaurant operations.
• Required state alcohol-server and Manager ServSafe certifications.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence.
• Serve as a key holder, responsible for opening and closing the restaurant and securing the facility.
• Identify, prioritize, and delegate tasks to team members to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
• Engage with guests to ensure needs are met and address concerns with urgency and care.
• Assist in hiring, training, and mentoring team members to meet performance standards.
• Maintain knowledge of FOH and BOH processes, including recipe adherence, food safety, and cleanliness.
• Support inventory management, proper prep levels, and line checks to uphold quality.
• Supervise cash handling during opening and closing activities.
• Complete and ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory checklists.
• Resolve guest or team issues with professionalism and escalate when necessary.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
