Job summary

RaceTrac is seeking a hands-on Shift Manager to lead a fast-paced store team and deliver exceptional guest service. You will guide daily operations, coach staff, and maintain safety and cleanliness standards while driving sales and store performance.

You will develop future leaders, manage inventory and cash processes, and partner with leadership to ensure a smooth shift experience for guests and teammates alike.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of work experience (retail, restaurant, or food service preferred).
• 1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience (preferred).
• Comfort in fast-paced, high-volume, guest-focused environments.
• Ability to follow through on tasks and coach others to do the same.
• Strong communication and team building skills.
• High School Diploma or GED (in progress or completed).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks without frequent breaks.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain required permits (food handlers, alcohol server, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead a Winning Team on Your Shift and set the tone with a cheerful attitude.
• Provide clear direction and assist with food service, stocking, cleaning, or cash handling.
• Coach team members in real-time, offering guidance and support during shifts.
• Address guest concerns with empathy and professionalism.
• Train and guide your team to meet guest service, food safety, and cleanliness standards.
• Oversee inventory, vendor check-in, and promotional communication.
• Direct, plan and apportion the work of store team members on shifts.
• Lead shift change communication and ensure team alignment throughout the day.
• Model RaceTrac’s core values and leadership qualities to the team.
• Foster teamwork and accountability across the store.
