Job summary

Smashburger in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Shift Leader to drive excellent guest experiences and oversee daily restaurant operations. You will partner with the General Manager to lead both front-of-house and back-of-house teams and ensure adherence to standards.

The role requires supervisory experience, strong leadership, and the ability to manage schedules, inventories, and training programs. A fast-paced environment with flexible availability is expected.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Restaurant General Manager to lead high-performing shifts and deliver great guest experiences.
• Oversee FOH & BOH team performance, fostering a fun, positive, and accountable culture.
• Train, coach, and onboard team members using Opus, LMS, and the 4-step training method.
• Recognize and reward top performance; address gaps with timely coaching.
• Execute daily operations, including checklists, line checks, opening/closing procedures, and cash handling.
• Monitor and improve guest experience metrics (NPS, OSAT).
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and local health regulations.
• Uphold service standards by modeling exceptional hospitality every shift.
• Manage labor, inventory, and food ordering to meet COGS targets and minimize loss.
