Job summary

Smashburger is hiring a Shift Leader to partner with the Restaurant General Manager to run high-performing shifts, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and uphold Smashburger standards. You will oversee both FOH and BOH teams, coach and onboard staff, manage checklists, cash handling, and food safety compliance while driving a positive, accountable culture in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Prior Shift Leader or supervisory experience.
• Completion (or ability to complete) Train-the-Trainer within 90 days.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
• High attention to detail with time management and organization.
• Results-driven mindset in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible availability (nights, weekends, holidays).
• Ability to follow company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Physical stamina to stand long periods and lift up to 50 lbs in a high-temperature environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-performing shifts with the GM to deliver great guest experiences.
• Oversee FOH & BOH performance and foster a positive, accountable culture.
• Train, coach, and onboard team members using Opus and LMS.
• Recognize top performance and coach gaps with timely feedback.
• Execute daily operations, including checklists, opening/closing, and cash handling.
• Monitor guest experience metrics (NPS, OSAT) and ensure safety compliance.
• Uphold service standards with exceptional hospitality every shift.
• Manage labor, inventory, and food ordering to meet COGS targets.
