Job summary

Potbelly is hiring an Assistant Manager to co-lead the shop with the General Manager. The role offers a base salary of $50,000–$55,000 with bonus potential based on location, skills and qualifications.

You will train and coach team members, interview and hire, schedule labor, and drive local promotions to maximize sales. Ideal candidates bring at least 2 years of management experience, food-safety certification, a customer-first mindset, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of management experience in either restaurant or retail environment.
• Must meet Food Safety requirements and obtain a Food Safety Certification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; customer-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Train, coach and develop Associates and Shift Leaders.
• Effectively interview and hire staff such as Associates and Shift Leaders.
• Schedule staff and manage labor goals; maintain deadlines and priorities.
• Drive local marketing and promotions to maximize sales.
• Ensure health, safety, and food safety standards are followed.
• Handle customer complaints and maintain shop procedures.
