Job summary

Nando’s North America is seeking an enthusiastic Shift Lead to supervise and support Nandocas during shifts, ensuring food safety, guest satisfaction, and smooth operations. You’ll coach the team, manage opening/closing tasks, and help maintain standards across the restaurant.

This hourly leadership role offers opportunities for bonus eligibility and a pathway to higher responsibilities within a values-driven team. Must be able to work varied hours and meet the role requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have a signed off PFG for the Shift Lead role.
• Must be certified in all hourly positions.
• Must be able to complete Shift Lead Pre‑Work 4 weeks in a training restaurant and be validated by Training Department
• Must complete onsite training and Shift Lead transition checklist within first 90 days
• Comfortable with both verbal and written English communication
• Must pass a background and credit check
• Be able to hold a food handlers and alcohol serving license (as needed by jurisdiction)
• Must maintain a HOT or higher performance rating
• Possess excellent communication skills that will serve their ability to professionally navigate and resolve situations with both Nandocas and guests

Responsibilities

• Lead all shifts to Nando’s food safety and operational standards while providing an excellent and safe guest and Nandoca experience.
• Thoroughly execute all opening duties: read MCL, review shift lineup, check catering orders, review sales forecast, validate inventory, complete prep and cook sheets, reconcile cash drawers.
• Own Back of House duties during the shift: prep/pull/thaw, use cook sheet for chicken, perform line checks.
• Conduct shift changeovers ensuring smooth handover and updated logs.
• Execute closing duties: cleanliness walk, set up next day catering, inventory and cash reconciliation, timekeeping validation, end-of-day reports.
• Interact with guests and Nandocas, anticipate needs, handle complaints, coach for better guest service.
• Manage finances: cash handling, deposits, cashier checkouts, discounts, refunds, and voids per policy
• Maintain restaurant safety and security, equipment checks, and IT/POS reliability
