Job summary

Blank Street is opening a new LA location and seeks a Shift Lead to be the heartbeat of the store, guiding the team through every shift with a focus on hospitality, quality, and efficiency.

You will train new team members, uphold health and cleanliness standards, and partner with our GM and Training Team to scale the operation. This is a full-time role requiring flexibility across peak days (Fri–Sun) and enduring commitment to guest experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a customer service leadership position (hospitality or coffee)
• 18+ years of age
• Able to lift 25+ lbs and stand for long periods
• Full Time: 30–40 hours per week, 4–5 days, must work 2 peak days (Fri–Sun)
• US work authorization (I-9) and California Fair Chance Act considerations

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift with clarity and confidence directing, coaching, and supporting the team
• Train new team members with GM and Training Team
• Continue training to ensure standards in product quality, safety, hospitality
• Delight customers with welcoming hospitality and turn them into regulars
• Handle customer or team issues calmly and solution‑oriented
• Maintain a clean, organized environment meeting health and Blank Street standards
• Work with Operations and Marketing on events and promotions
• Master cash handling, inventory, waste tracking, opening/closing processes
