Job summary

Le Pain Quotidien in New Canaan, CT is hiring a Shift Lead to deliver warm hospitality and oversee daily service operations. You will take orders, interact with guests, manage POS tasks including Toast, and support the kitchen and bar as needed.

The role offers growth opportunities within Convive Brands. Ideal candidates have 3–6 months of restaurant experience, a flexible schedule, and the ability to work across dining room and retail spaces.

Qualifications

• 3–6 months of related restaurant experience or training.
• Experience with POS systems, Toast preferred.
• Flexibility in schedule and willingness to be cross-trained.
• Ability to speak, read, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and attentive service to all guests throughout the visit.
• Receive food and beverage orders, enter into the POS, and coordinate with the kitchen.
• Anticipate guest needs and note preferences.
• Maintain knowledge of pastry, bread, kitchen, beverage, and retail items.
• Prepare drinks for the dining room as needed.
• Handle guest situations with empathy and elevate to a manager when necessary.
• Complete opening, mid, and closing procedures; daily checklist and side work.
• Organize money and receipts per cash handling policy.
• Keep areas clean and organized according to cleaning checklists.
• Assist with setup and maintenance of outdoor seating where applicable.
