Job summary

University of Georgia is seeking an Assistant Retail Manager for the Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel. You will act as on‑duty operations leader for Bulldog Bistro, coffee bar, and Savannah Room, overseeing shifts and a diverse hospitality team to deliver memorable dining experiences.

Reporting to the General Manager of Restaurants, you’ll drive guest satisfaction, staff engagement, and compliance with health and safety standards while managing daily cash, inventory, and service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Ability to lead, coach, and supervise frontline service staff.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on‑duty shift lead for Food & Beverage operations, including Bulldog Bistro and Savannah Room.
• Supervise frontline staff to ensure high‑quality service and guest satisfaction.
• Monitor inventory, adjust staffing, and manage daily operational needs.
• Oversee cash handling, POS reporting, tips, and deposits with accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service policies.
• Coordinate with management during emergencies and events.
