Job summary

El Pollo Loco is seeking a Shift Leader to guide a team through busy shifts, ensuring fast, friendly service and strict adherence to safety and quality standards. You will oversee opening/closing, supervise staff, manage cash on shift, and coordinate with the Area Leader to optimize operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be certified on EPL SPECS positions or have 1+ years restaurant supervisory experience and pass the EPL Food Safety Audit after hire.

Responsibilities

• Manage opening/closing procedures, security, and coordinate crew tasks for setup, prep and cleaning.
• Ensure service speed and customer satisfaction, maintain cleanliness per EPL health codes and QSC standards.
• Prioritize tasks, manage shift staffing based on sales, supervise break policies, and adjust production with Area Leader guidance.
• Train and support team on new products and procedures.
• Handle cash, deposits, and audits; verify catering orders and manage company funds on shift.
• Greet customers and assist with orders to ensure a friendly experience.
