Job summary

Lead Engineer at Jones Lang LaSalle in Santa Clara, CA, leads 24/7 critical building operations and serves as primary technical point of contact during shift hours. You coordinate a team, respond to emergencies, and oversee maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety and BAS to ensure zero downtime.

The role requires strong leadership, deep building systems knowledge, and a focus on safety and reliability, with on-site hours Mon-Fri 7:00–15:30.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of facilities operations experience, especially in critical operations environments.
• EPA Universal CFC certification with building systems expertise.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and lead during shift hours.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and continuous operation of all critical building systems during shift.
• Monitor building automation systems and perform regular rounds to identify potential issues.
• Coordinate and lead shift work orders and planned maintenance procedures.
• Troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and BAS issues with minimal downtime.
• Document activities and priorities in CMMS and during shift handovers.
• Coordinate contractor activities and ensure safety procedures are followed.
