Job summary

Blank Street, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Shift Lead to guide a fast-paced cafe team in Washington, DC. You’ll craft coffee and matcha drinks, deliver outstanding hospitality, and coach new staff on recipes and store procedures.

You’ll also open/close shifts, ensure safety checklists, resolve customer issues, and spearhead initiatives to drive foot traffic and daily sales while maintaining brand standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a customer service leadership role (e.g. shift lead, shift supervisor, key holder).
• 18+ years of age and eligible to work in the U.S.
• Able to lift 25+ lbs and stand for long periods.
• Comprehensive barista accreditation and training program.
• Availability: full-time, 30–40 hours/week, including peak days.

Responsibilities

• Craft high-quality coffee and matcha beverages.
• Provide exceptional hospitality to customers.
• Train new employees on recipes and store processes.
• Open and close the store ensuring checklists are followed.
• Lead store initiatives to boost foot traffic and sales.
