Job summary

FiveStar Food Mart in Hartford, KY is seeking a Shift Leader to partner with store management on an assigned shift. You will help with Customer Service, Food Service, and marketing tasks, while guiding and training the customer service team as you learn more about management duties.

The role emphasizes leading by example, ensuring friendly service, accurate merchandising, and adherence to company policies. The shift leader will also help supervise inventory and safety practices daily.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Professional appearance and a positive attitude.
• Excellent attendance.
• Ability to work on different shifts (am, pm, overnight), weekends and holidays.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in all customer service representative responsibilities.
• Promotes FiveStar treatment (friendly atmosphere, needs met, suggestive selling).
• Partners with store team to provide service per policies and procedures.
• Assist in training of customer service representatives.
• Educate store team on policies and communications.
• Assist in inventory control methods and ensure equipment is in good condition.
• Ensure quality food operation in collaboration with management.
• Communicate with staff via emails, weekly and monthly specials, and company programs.
• Responsible for merchandising, pricing, and promotional signage.
• Educate store employees on company standards.
