Job summary

Five Guys in Chicago is seeking a Shift Leader to guide daily operations, coach crew, and deliver fast, friendly service. You will work closely with the team to ensure a great guest experience and maintain brand standards.

This role involves multi-tasking across cashier, grill, prep, fries, and dining room duties, with emphasis on teamwork, safety, and quality on every shift.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience (leadership preferred).
• Team-first mindset with strong communication skills.
• Leads by doing—not just directing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and step in to run operations when management isn’t on site.
• Jump into every position—cashier, grill, prep, fries, dining room—no task is too small.
• Deliver fast, accurate service and create a great guest experience every time.
• Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform at their best.
• Help train new team members and build a strong, positive culture.
• Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and up to brand standards.
• Manage shift tasks like breaks, cash handling, and closing reports.
