The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Captain to serve as shift commander, directing security and control operations, supervising staff and coordinating inmate safety.

Qualifications

• Must meet same basic qualifications as a Detention Officer.
• Minimum high school graduate or equivalent; related college courses highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Direct the shift as Captain, overseeing security, control operations and inmate supervision.
• Develop and implement custody, security, and treatment procedures; ensure compliance with regulations.
• Supervise detention officers, assign tasks, review post orders and ensure staff training.
• Coordinate staffing for security supervisors and officers; respond to unusual occurrences.
• Prepare records, reports, and other required written correspondence; monitor daily logs.
