GEO Secured Services seeks a Captain to serve as shift commander, directing all security operations on a shift and supervising staff. You will manage inmate supervision, safety, and coordination with facility programs, while preparing records and reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in a correctional setting with supervisory responsibilities.
• High school graduate or equivalent; college courses are desirable.
• Strong ability to communicate with diverse personalities and interpret complex written and oral information.
• Working knowledge of corrections laws and court orders.
• Ability to write policy documents, memos, and other required correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Directs security activities and supervises custodial staff.
• Develops and implements policies for custody, security, and treatment of inmates.
• Conducts inspections to ensure compliance with security, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Reviews disciplinary matters involving staff and inmates.
• Oversees staff training on procedures including emergency responses.
• Provides guidance on situational problems and referrals for complex issues.
• Ensures inmate access to program services and maintains records and reports.
