Job summary

Courage Connection in Urbana, IL is seeking a Residential Services Manager to oversee the Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing Programs for domestic violence survivors, ensuring survivor-centered services and compliance with funding requirements.

The role leads Client Advocates and the Children’s Case Manager, requires at least two years of social services supervisory experience, and offers a full-time on-site schedule with evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in social services, supervisory and team development.
• Experience supervising, hiring, mentoring, and training employees.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with clients and staff.
• Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and survivor-centered services.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate staff according to funding requirements and staff development goals.
• Ensure focus on client advocacy and excellence in service provision and documentation.
• Evaluate programs and services to ensure that clients' needs and funder requirements are met, including ongoing program evaluation.
• Create and manage Client Advocate schedule.
• Ensure all Client Advocate shifts are covered and flexible to cover shifts as needed.
• Review and approve direct reports timesheets and time off requests.
• Oversee shelter offices and ensure eligibility and services provided appropriately.
• Provide direct service to clients as needed.
