  • Review and approve direct reports timesheets and time off requests.
  • Oversee shelter offices and ensure eligibility and services provided appropriately.
  • Provide direct service to clients as needed.

Services include a 24/7 emergency hotline, legal advocacy, therapy and counseling, shelter and stabilization programs, and outreach education initiatives. Role Description

The Residential Services Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Urbana, IL, responsible for providing oversight and management to Courage Connection’s Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing Programs for domestic violence survivors which are staffed and operated 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. The RSM provides oversight to Client Advocates and Children’s Case Manager. Ensures the programs provide survivor-centered and quality services, and compliance with federal, state, local, grant and funding requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate staff according to funding requirements and staff development goals.
  • Ensure focus on client advocacy and excellence in service provision and documentation.
  • Evaluate programs and services to ensure that clients' needs and funder requirements are being met, including implementing ongoing processes for program evaluation.
  • Create and manage Client Advocate schedule.
  • Ensure all Client Advocate shifts are covered and the flexibility to cover shifts as needed.
  • Review and approve direct reports timesheets and time off requests.
  • Responsible for the oversight and upkeep of shelter offices.
  • Ensure that eligibility and services are provided appropriately
  • Provide direct service to clients as needed.
  • Adhere to all of Courage Connection’s documentation standards and ensure timely documentation and compliance.
  • Engage in activities to increase public awareness and education related to the issues of domestic violence.
  • Be a champion for the agency, clients and staff at all times.
  • Maintain compliance with all agency policies and procedures.
  • Attend all meetings and complete all forms and reports required by direct supervisor, funders, Executive Director, or the Board.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate program needs including evenings and weekends.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned or as necessary to ensure organizational success.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of experience in social services, supervisory, administrative and team development experience.
  • Experience supervising, hiring, mentoring, and training employees.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with clients, staff and community partners.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and focus on providing survivor-centered services.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards and agency policies.
  • Must be able to listen and speak clearly on the telephone.
