A Safe Place in Illinois is seeking a Shelter Case Manager II to support survivors of domestic violence, their children and companion animals in the Emergency Shelter Program. You will deliver case management, crisis intervention, advocacy, and resource linkage in a client-centered setting.

The role involves intake, safety planning, and coordinating with legal, medical, housing, education, employment, and DHS services. A Bachelor's degree is required; Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field; relevant experience may be considered.
• Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling.
• Experience in case management, domestic violence services, crisis intervention.
• Experience in residential/shelter settings; knowledge of DHS and Medicaid billing.

Responsabilités

• Case Management & Service Planning: manage caseloads, assess needs, develop and monitor service plans, coordinate referrals to legal, medical, housing, education, employment and DHS services.
• Client Advocacy & Resource Linkage: connect clients with internal and external services and community resources.
• Crisis Intervention & Hotline Support: provide crisis counseling and safety planning; guidance on laws and protective orders.
• Shelter Operations & Resident Support: ensure safety, supervise residents, manage shelter policies and donations.
• Collaboration, Training & Professional Development: build partnerships, attend meetings, support volunteers.
• Time Management & Organization: prioritize tasks and coordinate appointments across multiple responsibilities.
• Communication: maintain clear written and verbal communication with clients and partners.
• Client Engagement: empower clients through self-help approaches, active listening, and culturally responsive care.
