Job summary

The People Concern is seeking a dedicated Support Specialist to act as the first point of contact for clients at the Kensington Campus in Lancaster, CA. You will assist with daily needs, uphold trauma-informed practices, and collaborate with shelter staff to ensure a safe, supportive environment.

You will monitor floor activities, engage with clients, and help maintain program standards while participating in team meetings and trainings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of related work experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; ability to handle difficult situations.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point-of-contact for client needs (phone use, linens, water, laundry, etc.).
• Monitor and maintain safety and cleanliness across the floor and common areas.
• Engage with clients on the floor and welcome them in a trauma-informed manner.
• Complete incident reports and update shift logs; document in HMIS as needed.
