Job summary

The People Concern is seeking a Support Specialist for our Kensington Campus in Lancaster, CA. This 100% onsite role focuses on immediate client needs, crisis de-escalation, and collaborative care within the Interim Housing program.

You will be part of a dedicated team supporting individuals facing homelessness and related challenges. Expect a schedule of Monday–Friday, 11am–7:30pm, with duties spanning front-line client contact, safety monitoring, and documentation using HMIS, while upholding

• Minimum one year experience in related work.
• Customer service skills and ability to handle difficult situations.
• Ability to work independently and think critically.
• Professional demeanor under varied circumstances.
• Familiarity with crisis intervention and trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for client needs and requests.
• Monitor floors and common areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Be visible on the floor and engage with clients.
• Conduct regular facility walkthroughs and maintain the environment.
• Develop trusted client relationships using client-centered approaches.
