Job summary

St. Vincent de Paul Hannah More Shelter in Reisterstown, MD seeks a Shift Supervisor to provide 24-hour awake coverage and lead the day-to-day operations, staff, volunteers and guests with dignity and care.

The role coordinates intake and discharge, collaborates with case managers, and ensures safety, stability and access to essential services for shelter residents while supporting move toward self-sufficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years’ experience working with homeless populations, especially women and children.
• Experience in crisis intervention, behavior management, or conflict resolution.
• Ability to communicate with diverse backgrounds respectfully.

Responsibilities

• Provides day-to-day oversight of shelter operations and staff scheduling.
• Oversees guest intake/discharge and room assignments, and maintains HMIS records.
• Coordinates life skills, job readiness, and parenting classes with case managers.
• Monitors safety, attendance, and bed utilization; ensures crisis intervention as needed.
