Job summary

ST VINCENT DE PAUL OF BALTIMORE INC seeks a dedicated supervisor to lead shelter program operations and staff, ensuring client safety and quality services. You will oversee daily programming, data entry in ROSIE, and crisis response, coordinating meals, donations, and site maintenance.

The role requires 3 years of supervisory experience, crisis intervention expertise, and strong communication, with a focus on serving diverse populations in a nonprofit shelter environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred; experience may substitute.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
• 2 years’ experience with or sensitivity to homeless populations.
• Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds in a non-judgmental manner.
• Experience in crisis intervention, behavior management, and conflict resolution.
• Strong written and verbal communication; confidentiality respect.
• Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee program operations and supervise shift monitors and program assistants.
• Coordinate all daily programming including laundry, showers, chores, and token distribution.
• Manage intakes, enter demographics into ROSIE, and monitor attendance and absences.
• Prepare weekly staff schedules and ensure shift coverage.
• Assist with meals, donations, and kitchen/food pantry upkeep.
• Provide crisis guidance and support in the absence of senior leadership.
• Support volunteers and create a respectful, caring environment.
• Attend required meetings and contribute to program planning.
