Job summary

St. Vincent de Paul’s shelter/transitional housing program is seeking a Shift Supervisor to oversee nightly operations, ensure a safe, welcoming environment, and lead a team of Service Coordinators and volunteers.

You will coordinate intake, meals, and housing transitions while handling crises and documenting incidents. Ideal candidates have 1+ year experience with vulnerable populations, a high school diploma, fingerprint clearance, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year working with vulnerable populations in shelter or similar settings.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead service coordinators and volunteers on shift to maintain a safe, calm, and supportive environment.
• Provide daily guidance, monitor policy adherence, and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Respond to emergencies in collaboration with security and program staff, documenting incidents.
• Oversee intake/discharge, meals, supplies, and sleeping area transitions.
• Maintain accurate shift logs and incident reports in agency databases.
