Job summary

Hope & Healing Survivor Resource Center in Akron, OH, is hiring for a Direct Service role. You will provide trauma-informed crisis intervention, advocacy, and case management to shelter residents while supporting staff and on-call coverage.

You will maintain a small caseload, help residents set goals, access resources, and navigate barriers to safety and stability, contributing to shelter operations and community collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or related field required.
• Preferred: Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or license-eligible.
• Minimum of two years experience in crisis intervention, advocacy, case management or direct human services.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed crisis intervention, advocacy, safety planning and support to shelter residents.
• Maintain a small caseload with individualized goals, referrals and resources in collaboration with Shelter Manager.
• Assist with shelter operations including coverage, transportation, conflict resolution and workshops for survivors on self-sufficiency.
• Serve as a resource to Crisis Intervention Specialists with guidance on resident needs and shelter procedures.
• Promote consistent shelter policies and participate in after-hours on-call coverage when needed.
• Document case management and program activities accurately and timely; participate in community events as assigned.
