Job summary

Hope and Healing Survivor Resource Center in Medina, OH, is seeking a part-time Domestic Violence Shelter Crisis Intervention Specialist to join our team. The role provides trauma-informed, confidential support to survivors residing in the shelter and coordinates crisis responses.

Responsibilities include shelter operations, safety planning, referrals, and collaboration with local agencies to connect survivors with services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; CPR, First Aid, AED, and Narcan certifications preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience with survivors of trauma, mental health, or addiction preferred.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and insurability; ability to pass background checks (OBI and FBI)

Responsibilities

• Provide confidential, trauma-informed support to survivors, including crisis intervention, advocacy, hotline responses, shelter intakes, referrals, safety planning, and follow-up care.
• Assist with shelter operations, including coverage, safety, transportation, conflict resolution, cleaning/food prep, and survivor engagement.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with agency policy.
• Collaborate with agencies to secure services for survivors and support case managers and staff in individualized survivor plans.
• Participate in professional development and community representation.
