Job summary

Hope & Healing Survivor Resource Center in Medina, OH invites applications for a Part-Time Domestic Violence Shelter Crisis Intervention Specialist. You will provide trauma-informed crisis intervention, advocacy, hotline responses, shelter intakes, and referrals to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

You’ll collaborate with agencies, support shelter operations, document care, and participate in professional development while upholding Service Excellence

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; CPR, First Aid, AED, and Narcan certifications preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience with survivors of trauma, mental health, or addiction preferred.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and insurability; ability to pass background checks (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Federal Bureau of Investigation)

Responsibilities

• Provide confidential, trauma-informed support to survivors, including crisis intervention, advocacy, hotline responses, shelter intakes, referrals, safety planning, and follow-up care.
• Assist with shelter operations, including shelter coverage, safety, transportation, conflict resolution, cleaning/food prep as needed, cleaning responsibilities, facilitating workshops for survivors on self-sufficiency skills, and provide daily survivor engagement.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with agency policy.
• Collaborate with agencies to secure services for survivors and support case managers and H&H staff in individualized survivor plans.
• Participate in professional development and community representation.
• Always adheres to Service Excellence standards.
• Complies with agency policies and procedures, federal and state requirements, CARF standards and educational/certification/registry requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
