Job summary

Westhab Inc. seeks a Security Manager to oversee safety at a NYC homeless shelter. The role reports to the Program Director and supervises Shift Supervisors and Security Officers, with 24/7 on-call requirements.

Responsibilities include enforcing DHS and Westhab policies, conducting regular inspections, and maintaining incident documentation. Ideal candidates have an Associate’s degree (preferred) and at least three years in security, with NYS Guard licensing and crisis management skills.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree preferred; 3+ years security-related experience.
• Licenses: NYS Security Guard license and F80 required.
• Skills: conflict resolution, crisis management, video surveillance, and fire alarm systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Shift Supervisors and Safety Security Officers.
• Ensure daily inspections of client rooms by Security Officers.
• Monitor and log client property; manage storage per DHS rules.
• Coordinate with Director of Social Services to enforce DHS/Westhab mandates.
• Lead weekly interdisciplinary team meetings; respond to emergencies.
• Oversee front desk security, provide crisis intervention.
• Maintain incident and entry reports; ensure paperwork is complete.
• Prepare weekly schedules; approve timecards; monitor overtime.
