Job summary

Qualifications

• Proof of education required: High school Diploma/ GED.
• A valid NYS Security Guard License, Fire Guard License (F80), and certified in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI).
• Must possess a general knowledge of security systems.
• The ability to solve problems and make decisions based on factual information is a must.

Responsibilities

• Train new security employees in all aspects of the facility.
• Monitor access control and ensure effective use of the magnetometer and X-ray machine.
• Make rounds throughout the facility and external premises to prevent, detect, deter, and report hazards or illegal activities.
• Respond to emergencies in person throughout the building, and provide guidance to staff.
• Complete monthly security reports and conduct daily security and fire safety inspections.
• Fulfill all duties of a Client Care Monitor in their absence.
• Adjust staff schedules due to sick calls and shortages.
• Maintain safety and security of clients and staff.
• Provide crisis intervention when needed.
• Assist in fire drills and safety planning.
• Oversee property packing and log client property accurately.
